Since 1979, Fernwood NRG (formerly the Fernwood Community Centre
Society) has provided many different programs and services for the
residents of our neighbourhood. We are committed to providing a warm,
welcoming place where Fernwood residents can feel comfortable dropping
in, accessing support services, or participating in recreation
programs. It's a place where you can drop off your child for a program,
or volunteer your time and energy to help build your neighbourhood.
The Fernwood Neighbourhood Resource Group aims to be the beating
heart of the neighbourhood. As staff, members, volunteers, and
neighbourhood residents we seek to create spaces that are vibrant,
innovative, inclusive, fluid, fun, and determined by residents. We
strive to build capacity, compassion, and excitement in our in-house
programs with the hope that this will spiral out into the
neighbourhood, and beyond. We are committed to creating a socially,
environmentally and economically sustainable neighbourhood and of
making this fragile planet a little more inhabitable for all beings.
